Overview:

Why edly likes it:

Strong Industry Demand:

  • Between 2019 and 2025, nearly 1 million technicians will be needed to fill jobs in the fields of truck technician, power generation technician and heavy equipment technician.
  • ADTC students’ return on investment is attractive, with graduates seeing average annual salary increases is greater than the $8,000 tuition.
  • Louisiana is home to more than 13,000 welders reporting an average starting pay of $52,810 (Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics)
  • The average age of a welder is 55 - with fewer than 20 percent under the age of 35 - leading to a shortage of labor supply. (Source: The American Welding Society)

School Experience:

  • ADTC's historical placement rate of graduates is 91% and its historical program completion rate is 95%.
  • AWS’ historical placement rate includes 98% within three months of graduation and its historical program completion rate is 93%.

High Impact Investments

  • ADTC graduates receive an average raise of $10,000/year compared to what they were making prior to entering the program.
  • AWS graduates receive an average raise of more than 100%, to $61,440/year from $30,000 average prior to enrolling in AWS.

Preferred Return

  • Investors get all cash (net after fees) from each pool, respectively, until they achieve a 15% preferred return.
  • Cash is then split between school (65%) and investors (35%).
